8th Grade Letter

Attention 8th Grade Families!! On Monday, we mailed out a letter regarding two very important 8th grade requirements, the digital portfolios and 10 service hours, both which are due May 24th. All students must complete them in order to be eligible for promotion. Students will work on their digital portfolios during their Advisory classes. However, they can also work on them at home. Please see Mr. Castro for any questions.

El lunes, enviamos por correo una carta sobre dos requisitos muy importantes de 8º grado, las carteras digitales y 10 horas de servicio, que vencen el 24 de mayo. Todos los estudiantes deben completarlos para poder ser elegibles para la promoción. Los estudiantes trabajarán en sus portafolios digitales durante sus clases de Asesoría. Care Package 3/25-3/29

O'Donovan ASB is hosting a Care Package Drive starting Monday, March 25th through Friday, March 29th. Each day students and families can donate toiletries which will be donated to a Women’s shelter. Here is the guide of what to bring each day: Hair Care Monday: Shampoo/Conditioner, hair brushes, hair ties - Toasty Toes Tuesday- Collect socks - Women's Care Wednesday- Women's hygiene products - Clean Teeth Thursday- Toothbrushes & Toothpaste - Fresh Friday: Soap & Deodorant. The grade-level with the most items donated wins ice cream and for every 5 items donated, parents will receive 1 service hour (max of 5 hours). Let's come together as a community and help support those in need. See our Parent Specialist, Ms. Contreras if you have any questions.
O'Donovan ASB está organizando una unidad de paquetes de atención a partir del lunes 25 de marzo hasta el viernes 29 de marzo. Cada día, los estudiantes y las familias pueden donar artículos de aseo que se donarán a un refugio para mujeres. Canine Contraband Search

Yesterday we had a police officer along with his canine, going to each and every classroom making sure our school is a drug-free zone. Attached you will find a letter with more information, this letter was also distributed to every grade level.

6th Grade Field Trip

Our 6th-grade students will be going to the Science Center on Tuesday, April 2nd. This is a great learning opportunity in which students will learn a lot more about plants, wildlife, minerals, space equipment, ​and dinosaurs!

Captain Marvel Movie Fieldtrip

On Sunday, March 11th, 50 O'Donovan students had the opportunity to attend a screening of Captian Marvel at the El Capitan Theater on Hollywood Blouvard. This opportunity was provided by Pollen Pictures. Students had a great time experiencing the theater and being inspired by a female lead superhero lead movie.
El domingo 11 de marzo, 50 estudiantes de O'Donovan tuvieron la oportunidad de asistir a un proyección de Captian Marvel en el Teatro El Capitán en Hollywood Blouvard. Esta oportunidad fue proporcionada por Pollen Pictures. Los estudiantes se la pasaron muy bien experimentando el teatro e inspirándose en una película de superhéroe protagonista femenina.

6th Grade Field Trip to the Science Center

We are excited to share our 6th-grade students will be attending a field trip to the California Science Center on April 2nd.

Students will be taking home field trip slips on Tuesday, March 19th and are due back to their 2nd-period teacher on Friday, March 22nd. If you are in need of a new field trip slip, please visit the link on this page.

Captain Marvel Screening is Sold Out!

Our science teacher Mr. Williams along with the After School All-Stars are sponsoring a free field trip to watch the new Captain Marvel movie at the El Capitan theatre in Hollywood. This field trip is open to all students to attend. This event is sold out, no more tickets available.

Say Something Week Opt Out Form

Students will be participating in a week long series of activities that will create awareness around potential threats and bullying. A parent workshop will be offered on Wednesday, February 27th, 2019. This workshop will highlight the learnings and activities that took place during Say Something Week.

8th Grade Raffle Fundraiser: 8th Grade LA Zoo Trip!

We want to keep you informed about your students 8th grade fundraiser. Please encourage your child to sell 10 tickets at $2 each during winter break. Our goal is to raise $1,500 for our bus transportation. We appreciate your support and thank you for your donations!

8th Grade Families: 8th Grade Community Service Hours

All 8th grade students must complete 10 Service Hours as a promotion requirement. At least 5 hours must be completed by December 7, 2018. Please keep track of hours in the student handbook. Should you have any questions regarding Service Hours, please contact our school counselor, Mr. Castro.
