On Saturday, September 7th a group of O'Donovan students and staff members attended the 14th Annual Commerce to College Fair. At this amazing event, students spoke with various college representatives and attended college-ready workshops.
At O’Donovan, we believe in supporting the social-emotional development and the well-being of all scholars and adult staff members in order to create a strong Team and Family. The aim of Compass Work / Community Circles is to build trust, rapport, and social-emotional skills amongst our entire O’Donovan community. As such our school is committed to providing scholars with a daily focus on compass work. The following is the breakdown of this focus at our school:
· Monday - Thursday all scholars will engage in academic progress checks, badge work, mini circles and house meetings for 30 minutes daily.
· Fridays will be dedicated for a 70 minute all scholar community circle.
Through Compass, scholars will build their skills in the social-emotional areas which in turn will allow for higher levels of academic achievement.
