Mr. Dougherty

I’m from Upstate New York. While I love the Catskills, I find my purpose in LA. I moved to Los Angeles to pursue Higher Education. My favorite quote from Literature is by Toni Morrison who wrote, once you set yourself free, it is your responsibility to set others free. I believe that through reading literature and engaging one another, scholars are preparing themselves for the future. By reading literature, and thinking about deep questions, students are creating a brighter future.

My favorite memories of Los Angeles are from when I was young and my grandfather brought us all boogie-boarding. Growing up around nature, I relish the diverse nature LA has to offer and the nice weather. My favorite times away are Thanksgiving with my family outside of San Fransisco. My Aunt is an excellent cook.

My goal for the year is to have a positive impact on every scholar. I hope to inspire in every scholar a point of view of humanities as essential, meaningful, and pivotal in their development as scholars as they interact and hone their mastery of the knowledge.
