My name is Christopher Docazal and I am the Special Education Coordinator for Ouchi-O'Donovan 6-12 Learning Complex. This is my first year at O’Donovan, and my 10th year in education. I previously worked with students in El Monte, California. I completed my undergraduate degree and credential program at Cal Poly Pomona. I completed my Masters degree at the University of Texas with a focus in Education Leadership.
My focus this year is to meet the needs of all students in the department by providing individualized services and support in a mainstream classroom in order to ensure that our students are successful this year, in college, and the future.
To ensure this, I plan to bring the O’Donovan FIRE everyday by doing the following:
F(Family)- Communicating and collaborating with parents to ensure the success of all students.
I(Integrity)- Following a student’s IEP plan and ensuring that your child receives FAPE in a least-restrictive and supportive environment.
R(Respect)- When formulating any decision involving your child, I will respect and allow others to share their ideas (parents, teachers, stakeholders) and include them in any decision involving the success of the student(parents, teachers, stakeholders).
E (Excellence)- Ensure that all stakeholders work together to provide academic excellence for all of our students with the goal that every student meets or exceeds ELA and Math standards.
In my free time, I like to give public speeches in Spanish and go on trials with my horses. Parents, please feel free to contact me with any questions, ideas, or concerns. Thank you.
