Dear O'Donovan Parents and Families,

My name is Ms. Park and I am your scholar's Seventh Grade Math teacher for the 2019-2020 school year. 

I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois and received my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Mathematics from Marquette University. After immersing myself in a variety of classroom experiences, I began my teaching career as a 6th grade teacher at an inner city charter school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Although difficult at times, my first few years of teaching taught me the power of resilience and the importance of quality education for all children regardless of race, socioeconomic background, status. This summer, I took a huge leap of faith and left my comfort zone of family and friends, and moved across the country here to Los Angeles to take on my fourth year of teaching at O'Donovan. Change is never easy but I'm excited to take on the challenge with a talented team of educators and am looking forward to all that will be accomplished this year!

Every year, it is my ultimate priority to ensure that my students are safe, cared for, and pushed academically to reach their fullest potential. In order to do that, I set high behavior expectations to protect the learning environment, give students opportunities to mature in character, and remind students that they can and will be the catalyst to change the world.  

With that being said, I truly believe that it takes a village to raise a child. And so I hope that you will partner with me on this journey, in confidence that our diligence will pay off in the gains and growth of the students- in the classroom and beyond.
